Yes, the House Boy is permitted to maintain personal friendships and have visitors at times. The arrival of a guest does not excuse the boy from any of his duties or chores, nor the requirement to remain naked or suffer discipline for misbehavior. The Master must also approve the entry of anyone who is a guest of the House Boy, and these policies are enforced with one exception: House Boys who are enrolled in college or training classes. These boys are permitted to have fellow students visit to collaborate on a project or to study together with an assurance from the Master that most chores and discipline (except for insubordination) will be deferred until the guest leaves. (See below, Rule #73).

The issue of relatives visiting has only come up a handful of times, so these are handled on a case-by-case basis. Again, the boy is not excused from his duties or chores nor from the requirement to remain naked. Most House Boys are not eager to have relatives visit (or even be aware of the living arrangement) so relatives are rarely invited. On one occasion the younger sister of a 23-year-old House Boy arrived unexpectedly at a pool party as the date of an invited guest, sending the Naked House Boy into a panic. He refused to allow the two of them inside and asked the Master to turn away the sister but admit the boyfriend. After consulting the rules and pre-collaring ‘limits’ requested in writing by the boy, the Master confirmed that no “exemption for relatives” had been requested and there was no rule preventing the guest from inviting the House Boy’s sister – accidentally or intentionally – so the Master had no choice but to allow both the invited guest and his female date inside to introduce themselves and then out to the pool area, where the tearful House Boy was required to serve refreshments to them just like any other guests. The boy even had to apologize to them for delaying their entry unnecessarily (a minor Level Zero violation), though no physical punishment was issued since the Naked House Boy was not in any way attempting to be disrespectful. This circumstance was unique and isn’t likely to ever happen again, but one never knows.

House Boys are given wide latitude to set a handful of limits and exceptions to the rules before collaring, and his boy *could* have set having his sister over as a ‘hard limit’. Once a boy is collared and in service, it’s important that the Master enforce the rules over all objections – including those of the House Boy – so that the Master doesn’t lose the appearance of authority. This is why it was necessary to hold that boy responsible for his commitment of being a Naked House Boy for *all* visitors – including family members who arrive unexpectedly. It is the boy’s fault – not the Master’s – that the boy failed to foresee the possibility of a family member visiting someday.

Finally, you should address me as 'Sir’. I am not your Master until and unless you are collared. Please refer to me as 'Sir’, which is a term that I allow most collared boys to also use most of the time.
