When the House Boy is traveling with the Master away from home and the Master wishes to use handcuffs that are not available, the Master has the right to use a safe alternative to traditional handcuffs on the boy either for enforcement of discipline or for non-disciplinary control. An example of non-disciplinary control would be attaching a leash or restraint to the boy for leading the boy through a crowd where he might otherwise get lost.

The Master will choose the use of the House Boy’s belt as the best alternative to traditional handcuffs in most instances, and the House Boy is required to immediately and silently remove his belt on command, regardless of circumstances. When the boy does not have a belt available, the Master may choose to use his own belt or any other appropriate solution such as rope, electrical cord, or duct tape, if available.

In the example graphic, the proper method of folding a belt into useable handcuffs is shown. Every House Boy is required to practice and learn this procedure and to automatically fold his belt as shown when directed to do so. The makeshift cuffs may also be used as Leg Irons at the Master’s discretion, and the Master may choose to use two belts only when necessary for actual disciplinary reasons (including disciplinary demonstration) like Level Three Discipline.

House Boys who are clothed and traveling with the Master away from home should use caution to ensure that his pants do not fall upon removal of his belt. If the boy is accidentally exposed, he does not have the right to blame the Master, but he may be punished by the Master for failure to follow instructions.
