Each House Boy is assigned individual standards for body hair, and any House Boy who is not permitted to retain his leg hair may be required to shave or smooth the designated body parts at scheduled intervals or on demand, regardless of who may be present and could observe, doing so only while completely naked and fully cooperating with any volunteer assistant or Body Sculptors (Rule #150A) should they be assigned to conduct or assist with this task.

Each full-time House Boy is evaluated before collaring for several characteristics. One of these is the appropriateness of body hair. The evaluation takes into account his body measurements and overall look, the color, and thickness of his body and pubic hair, and the Master’s impressions about whether house guests would be more comfortable seeing this particular House Boy with body hair or hairless, or perhaps something in-between like with hair smoothed or trimmed only in specific places. About fifty percent of full-time House Boys are required to submit to the shaving of all body hair from armpits to ankles, and potential House Boys should be prepared for this possibility.

For full-time House Boys who are not permitted to keep their leg hair, shaving or smoothing of the legs is considered a scheduled activity that must take place on the assigned day and time, regardless of who may be present and could observe. The House Boy is required to remain completely naked during this activity, regardless of whether he is self-shaving or the grooming is being done by the Master or another groomer. The use of topical hair removal products is prohibited on House Boys with skin allergies and other sensitivities. The legs may be shaved at the same time as other body parts, or separately at the Master’s discretion. Leg shaving is never done in the House Boy’s bedroom.

House Boys serving part-time or temporarily will be granted an automatic exemption from this rule on a request and may retain all body hair. They are still subject to body hair inspection at any time, along with trimming or removal of any body hair that poses health or safety risks, such as in the case of an insect bite or scratch where body hair interferes with treatment.

House Boys who are being shaved or smoothed are required to cooperate with their groomer in positioning their legs and other body parts so that grooming can be conducted safely and completely. This may result in the visible exposure of the House Boy’s anus or momentary handling of other body parts while positioning him for best access. Any uncooperative behavior or attitude to a groomer or observer following a verbal warning may be punishable with a Level Two Spanking for disrespect.
