The House Boy is required to remain naked at home and on the Master’s property, but footwear is usually optional. Some boys prefer to work barefoot, and the Master allows this freedom. Other boys prefer to wear appropriate footwear, which is usually socks or slippers indoors, and shoes or boots outside. Away from home, the Master issues clothing or covering and footwear is often required.

The House Boy is required to submit to ‘For Cause’ inspections when an issue is observed or reported about footwear he is wearing. The protocol calls for the boy to be seated if he is not already, even if it means seating himself on the floor or ground. The boy will then lean back with his hands on his knees and raise the footwear to a height where it can be properly inspected.

When a volunteer is available to inspect the footwear, he or she will always be allowed to do so since the Master should not have to be ‘at the feet’ of a lowly House Boy, otherwise the boy will be assigned a three-swat Level Two Spanking for making the Master conduct the inspection unless no defects are found. Responsible House Boys avoid this possibility by reporting footwear issues before they are apparent to others, so that Maser may schedule footwear repair or replacement. The boy will not be disciplined for footwear issues that have been properly reported to the Master.

In the example photo, the boy takes a seat on the wooden bench in the Master’s 'Back 40’ and presents his sneakers for inspection. The procedure would be the same if the boy was in a public place where clothing is required, except that his penis and scrotum, and anus would not be visible during inspection. House Boys wearing shorts could still be exposed if they are not careful since the boy is prohibited from wearing underwear.
