Assessment and Screening —
Circumcision Status Declaration

Circumcision Declaration

Every prospective House Boy who completes the Penis Classification Worksheet and indicates he is circumcised must also complete a Circumcision Status Declaration at or before his Pre-Collaring Interview. The Master will go over the form with the candidate, reminding him that the information contained in the Circumcision Status Declaration will be verified after the applicant removes all of his clothing and presents his naked body for Pre-Collaring Inspection. The descriptions and types of circumcisions will be read to the applicant to ensure that he understands the types and differences, and the candidate will circle the type of circumcision which most closely matches his penis type. The applicant then will verbally read the description back to the Master and initial the form to lock in his answer and indicate consent for verification during the Pre-Collaring Inspection. Applicants who are uncircumcised will write on the form ‘My penis is not circumcised’ or ‘My penis has a foreskin’ and initial to indicate consent for inspection since no penis (or any body part) can be certified for service as a House Boy without prior inspection and approval.

The five Circumcision Status types are as follows:

  • G1-A Normal (or Standard)
  • G1-B High and Tight
  • G1-C Low and Tight
  • G1-D High and Loose
  • G1-E Low and Loose
  • Note: Position is determined by how far from the glans (the head of the penis) the cut is made. Tightness (tight vs. loose) is determined by the amount of foreskin removed.

Applicants who previously responded verbally — or via messaging or email — with their Circumcision Status are still required to complete or review the Circumcision Status Declaration at the Pre-Collaring Interview and to initial or re-initial the form as consent for inspection.

A copy of every House Boy’s Circumcision Status Declaration will be placed in the boy’s file after collaring and will remain available for viewing by any guest on request. Any reports of mismatch or natural changes due to aging or other factors may result in re-inspection of the House Boy’s penis and possible reclassification, with the supplemental form to be signed off by the Master and dated and initialed by the House Boy at that time. As a reminder, House Boys have no right to privacy at any time after collaring — including during inspections — regardless of who may be present and could observe. The right of any guest to observe or supervise a House Boy overrides any desire by a House Boy to not be seen, regardless of the boy’s duty or activity at the time.
