Commands – “Sleep”
A House Boy is required to immediately obey a ‘Sleep’ command, regardless of time or place, or circumstance. This command is usually given at home, but it used off the property on rare occasions. At home, the boy will retire to where he awakened most recently – usually his bedroom – to lay down and close his eyes. This command also requires full nudity to be executed properly at home.
The protocol for executing a ‘Sleep’ command is firstly to remove all clothing and secondly to take the clothing to where he will be sleeping, then stow the clothing together and lay down for rest. When this command is given off property, the boy is expected to execute the order in his present location. The proper position for executing a sleep command in public is for the boy – whether dressed or undressed – to immediately lie down on his back with his legs fully extended and arms placed at his side. This command will be considered executed even if the boy does not actually fall asleep, as long as he remains still and his eyes remain closed for a minimum of 15 minutes or until another command is issued.
Upon awakening from a ‘Sleep’ command, the boy will ask for and receive permission before doing any activity except for opening his eyes.
