This short video is an example of how a House Boy needs to be alert to not take a minor rule violation and escalate it into multiple instances of discipline.

In the example shown, the Naked House Boy takes a brief nap with permission but is discovered with his penis improperly covered. He nodded off with a dishtowel in his hand and changed positions while asleep, which the Master attempts to gently correct by removing the dishtowel that is improperly covering the penis. This action awakens the boy, who commits an Act of Disrespect by improperly reaching down and intentionally covering his scrotum, then rolling over.

The Cumulative Violation Rule (See below, Rule #100) holds that a House Boy may be punished for his actions as a whole and for each separate violation committed during an event sequence. It is the ‘Infield Fly Rule’ of service as a House Boy, and every Boy is wise to memorize it:

“Each act of misconduct may be evaluated in its own context and punished separately, and multiple acts of misconduct that occur together or as a chain of events may be evaluated as a whole for insubordination or escalation to a higher level of discipline.”

In this short video, the slumbering House Boy will be charged with violating the Nudity Rule by accidentally covering his penis while sleeping (a minor a Level One Spanking) and for the Intentional Act of Disrespect for choosing to hide his scrotum with his hands and rolling over (a Level Two Punishment). Since the second Violation interfered with the Master’s removal of the cloth covering the penis, the boy is also guilty of Resistance, which is another Level Two Act of Disrespect (and could have been charged as Level Three Insubordination had the boy been fully awake). For the act as a whole, the Master will double the number of Disciplinary Swats assigned for the three individual violations. This House Boy’s poor self-control has turned what would have been the removal of the covering with perhaps a single bare-handed swat (or even just a verbal warning) into four separate Level Two Punishments using an implement like a paddle or belt.

It is always better for the House Boy to accept corrective action or minor discipline without disrespect or resistance. Overt actions which interfere with this process can escalate punishment quickly. While the Master rarely goes out of his way to look for secondary violations – and often overlooks them entirely – certain house guests (mostly the younger ones) delight in reporting the boy’s misbehavior, even yelling the phrase “Rule 100” which triggers escalated discipline that a guest may view as brief entertainment on an otherwise boring day.
