Corrective Actions are necessary responses to situations that may not be punishable but need to be responded to promptly. In the example shown, the House Boy is being led on a leash or lead while walking in town. The Master has the right to use non-punishment leashes or leads for the boy’s protection and in crowded situations where the boy could be lost, or any time that the Master feels the boy is likely to wander or have difficulty keeping the proper pace (either too slow or too fast). Because this is for the House Boy’s benefit and not a punishment, the boy should not feel embarrassed while being led on a leash or lead.

Corrective Actions take place when needed, regardless of who may be present and could observe. In the photo shown, a Master leads his naked boy past The Sausage Factory on Castro Street in San Francisco. Until just a few years ago, San Francisco didn’t have an anti-nudity ordinance, and walking your boy naked in public was perfectly okay. Sadly, the law has now changed, so the House Boy would be loaned clothing or covering for a walk like this one (see ‘Paramount Rule’).
