The Naked House Boy is responsible for some light chores outside in the Master’s private backyard and pool area, including watering of plants and hosing down of the area around the pool and proper storage of chairs and other accessories for recreational use. The boy also has garden access (See below: Rule #235) and sometimes will become soiled or thirsty while he is outside tending to these activities.

Although the House boy is permitted access to drinking water 24 hours a day without asking for permission, it is a violation for the boy to consume water from an outdoor hose or faucet except in an emergency. The protocol calls for the boy to either bring a container of water outside or to return inside for a drink of water.

In the example photo, the House Boy fails to plan ahead and bring water outside so he decides to sneak a few quick sips from the garden hose on a hot summer day, rather than go to the extra effort of returning inside to get a glass of water. Perhaps he wants to avoid the usual inspection and order to ‘spot clean’ his dirty feet or another body part (See below: Rule #57), or maybe he just doesn’t want to be seen naked by the door-to-door salesperson that the Master has just let inside.

The outdoor hoses and fixtures are not meant for human consumption and the boy is risking his own health by drinking from them. This is a Level One violation and if it comes to the Master’s attention that the boy has been drinking from the garden hose, he is subject to receiving a bare bottom spanking. The Master may choose to administer discipline immediately or defer it until after the salesperson has left. The House Boy has no say about who does or does not get to observe discipline, since a House Boy never has any right to privacy on the Master’s property.
