A single restraint may be used on the House Boy to limit his movement while completing or correcting a chore that did not meet expectations because he either was distracted or left the assigned area. A single restraint may also be installed during sleep and rest periods, at the Master’s discretion. The use of a single restraint as a proactive tool to prevent the House Boy from becoming distracted or leaving an assigned work or waiting space is permitted at the Master’s discretion. Use of the Single Restraint differs from Level Three Punishment Restraints in that the single restraint is loosely attached and allows limited freedom of movement. Restraint may be of any style or material and may be attached safely to any body part. Recommended attachment locations for a single restraint are the collar, wrist, ankle, waist, and genitals. In the example shown, a light chain has been attached to the boy’s genitals to keep him confined to the sleeping area after the Master discovered him in the living room after hours. The chain is loose enough to allow the boy to toss and turn and roll over during his rest period but isn’t long enough to permit him to leave the assigned sleep area.

Single restraint genital attachments will not be used in public areas where nudity is not allowed. Restraint will not be attached or removed by anyone other than the Master unless the person has been trained or is being supervised by the Master.
