Corrective Action – Scalp Cleansing
Corrective Actions are necessary responses to situations that may not be punishable but need to be responded to promptly. In the example shown, the House Boy has been found to have unsatisfactorily dirty hair or scalp, through no fault of his own. This may have occurred due to an unavoidable incident like a guest spilling something on him, or from a simple chore like changing the vacuum cleaner bag. The boy is to assume the position shown with his head in the bathtub and feet in contact with the floor, to receive a scalp rinse or wash. The water should be running and the drain plug removed. Because this is not a punishment, he should not feel embarrassed while undergoing this routine procedure.
Corrective Actions take place when needed, regardless of who may be present and could observe. Should a guest volunteer to carry out the rinsing, the guest will also be responsible for making sure that the boy is properly dried and scalp hair is combed presentably. The boy is subject to additional inspection during or after this procedure.
