All rules violations by the House Boy are punished at Level One unless otherwise specified in the rules. Level One Punishment calls for a bare hand spanking on the bare bottom. Discipline usually takes place immediately, regardless of who may be present and could observe. There are several positions that may be selected by the Master for this punishment, and the most common is Over The Knee. The Seven-Point Position is sometimes used when an appropriate flat surface is available.

In this position, the House Boy is usually positioned facing away from others. Due to the natural separation of the buttocks, swats are administered separately on each side (Example: Three swats means three swats on the left side and three swats on the right, in any order). Following each swat, the house boy will announce the number of the swat for that particular side, or the swat will not count and the swat count for that side will reset at zero.

This position gets its name because seven points make contact with the surface: two feet, two knees, two hands, and the penis or scrotum. The knees should be at the widest point possible. It may be necessary to gently pull on the penis or scrotum to ensure that contact with the surface is maintained after each swat. Seven-Point Position discipline may only be administered by the Master.
