When the House Boy is traveling with the Master and has been given permission to urinate in a public restroom, he may choose to use a seated stall instead of a urinal when both are available. Whenever the boy uses a stall to urinate, he must do so with his pants and any underclothing pulled down to the tops of his kneecaps and he is prohibited from closing the entry door to the stall.

The protocol calls for the boy to enter the stall by opening the door to its maximum, letting go of the door as if the boy has to urinate so badly he didn’t even consider whether the door would close or remain partially or fully open. The boy will then pull down his pants and underclothing and urinate. Although he may place his hands in front of his body, he is not permitted to actually touch his genitals with his fingers or hands.
