The House Boy is required to serve naked at home but is allowed sufficient clothing when traveling to remain legal and safe. Other than that requirement, clothing or covering is decided by Master whenever Master and boy are traveling together. This means that the boy could be ordered to wear only bikini swimwear or underwear on warm summer days.

The House Boy is not required to engage in any activity which could cause bikini shorts to become transparent in locations where nudity is not legal or traditional. The boy has the right to question or refuse any order that would cause bikini swimwear or underwear to become transparent, except in locations where nudity is okay. A boy who complies with a suggestion that causes bikini shorts to become transparent or who carelessly gets wet will be considered to have voluntarily chosen to do what he did. The right of the boy to question or refuse any instruction always ends at the moment he actually chooses to obey the instruction.

In the example photo, the boy wearing these shorts would have had the right to refuse to get his bikini wet, unless he is at a beach where nudity is permitted or traditional. Now that he is already wet – either by following a command or being careless – he is considered to have done so voluntarily and can not question the circumstance that led up to his getting wet.
