The most important aspect of screening potential House Boys for collaring is the determination of compatibility. An applicant who is poorly compatible with the Master’s lifestyle and methods of training and discipline or home environment, will be a poor fit and difficult to properly train for service. Poorly compatible House Boys can also be disruptive to the Master’s social and professional relationships and should be screened out no later than the required Pre-Collaring Interview and Inspection, also known as the meet-and-greet and strip-search.

Every prospective House Boy will be furnished a copy of the Submissive Type Self-Identification form at or before his Pre-Collaring Interview. The Master will discuss the contents of the form with the candidate during the interview and ask the applicant to select the label which most closely approximates the prospective House Boy’s current submissive type. Completed forms will be dated and signed or initialed by the applicants and retained by the Master throughout the Pre-Collaring Interview and Inspection process.

The seven labels on the Submissive Type Self Identification Chart are boyfriend, bottom, sub, boy, slave, faggot, and object. A prospective House Boy who identifies with an unlisted label, such as pig, prisoner, switch, or slug, will be permitted to write in the alternate label, which must be appropriately placed in the corresponding control column for that community as an example. The Master will discuss and weigh heavily the selection made by each candidate, bearing in mind that the candidates who are most likely to be suitable are those who identify to the center-right side of the form, with full-time House Boys being able to comfortably relinquish obedience in the 75% to 90% range.

The completed form will be placed in the House Boy’s file and is available for anyone to view after collaring, on request. It is the responsibility of every full-time live-in House Boy to complete a new form if he determines that his submissive label has permanently changed.
