TRAINING CONTRACT
An ancillary contract is by no means legally binding. Its purpose is to solidify the points of agreement between you and your slave and to provide a ritualistic gesture, which increases the slave's awareness of the importance of the commission. Include only pertinent information; leave the details for another place. Keep it simple and general. It should contain abundant exceptions to account for unforeseen events that occur in a relationship.
The contract should not be terribly long. If you need to refer to an appendix, it is too long. It should not contain "legal terms" unless you both know how to speak, write, and understand these terms. Many "legalistic" or "high-flown" words are more appropriate for dispatches.
The auxiliary training contract should not include rules of behavior, except in a general sense. Including the slave's dress code, ritual rules, or details regarding sexuality or personal hygiene are merely invitations to break the contract. Once broken, the contract must be re-evaluated and rewritten as soon as possible, or it becomes a meaningless piece of paper and a waste of time. The contract should not include fantasies about what the relationship should be like; rather, it should be a meaningful, binding document for both parties.
As with any contractual agreement, both parties must agree on what they intend to achieve, and both parties should feel free to discuss the points, ask questions, and make suggestions. It must be understood (and clearly stated to the slave) that until she signs, she is under no obligation to the terms of the contract.
As the Master, you are the one who will draw up the terms of the agreement and who must put things on the table for discussion. Of course, you have the option to be inflexible, and depending on the nature of the relationship at the time of signing, you will be the one who determines the final wording of the contract.
If you are inflexible, you must be prepared for the contract to be rejected. To ensure the slave's emotional safety, you must also accept her rejection without any consequences for the slave. If you cannot do this, you are not prepared to enter into a contractual agreement. (The slave's needs are the same, but due to her more vulnerable position in the world of D/s, you must be the one to take the "emotional hit" if necessary.)
Discuss the contract with the slave without threats, in a comfortable place. The slave must have your express permission to speak freely, and lapses such as not using the titles of Master or Lord should be overlooked during the discussion. Remember, the slave is making a choice that will potentially have a profound impact on the rest of her life.
Once the terms are agreed upon, a date should be set for a formal signing when both of you have plenty of time, or when your witnesses can be present, if you choose to have witnesses. The slave should present herself before you naked, kneeling "upright," then reaffirm her desire to undergo the training and ask her permission to do so.
You should then order the slave to read the contract aloud. Listen carefully, and ask if the slave fully understands the terms of the contract and agrees to them. After her acceptance, both of you should sign the contract. Present her with a simple training collar, to wear until she has completed the training program.
The slave must thank you by any means you deem appropriate, and both of you must consider that formal training begins at that moment (the contract is for you, but it must be available to the slave at the appropriate time—that is, the slave cannot ask to see the contract during a punishment, but must be able to see it if she makes a respectful request for it).
One thing to remember about the contract: Once it is signed, both parties are expected to abide by it for the duration of the contract. There is no point in signing a contract where either party can walk away because they no longer wish to "play." The slave must understand, without question, that for the duration of the contract, she has agreed not only to live according to your rules, but has agreed to live as your slave and is content with your authority.

One thing to remember about the contract: Once it is signed, both parties are expected to follow it for the duration of the contract. There is no point in signing a contract where either party can walk away because they no longer wish to "play." The slave must understand, without question, that for the duration of the contract, she has agreed not only to live according to your rules, but has agreed to live as your slave and is subject to your authority.
It must also be understood by both parties that neither party has the option to break the terms of the agreement. Obviously, the slave will make mistakes, but if the general terms of the contract are not upheld, she must understand that she cannot "simply stop." The contract promises servitude to the Master for a certain period of time, and she must be very clear that she must fulfill her obligations to the end.
Since no ancillary contract is legally binding, there is no threat of legal action if the contract is broken. The "threat" must be stated as follows: if the slave fails to adhere to the principles of the contract and causes it to become null and void by disregarding those principles, she must immediately consider her training terminated and should not be given another opportunity to be trained by you. You must be very firm. The circumstances where there will be no second chance are extremely rare.
Of course, your obligation is the same. The threat to you, however, is implicit. If you don't maintain the training until the end, if your training is sporadic, and your direction is unavailable, your slave will likely not want a relationship with you beyond the end of the contract. She won't be able to trust or respect your decisions. Furthermore, you will make little progress during the training period.
It is absolutely essential that you prove yourself trustworthy, and you should consider yourself bound by the terms of a signed contract. If, for any reason, you feel you cannot promise as much as you expect the slave to promise, do not use a contract.
* If you feel you cannot reasonably uphold the principles of the Master/slave relationship to the point that you feel uncomfortable signing a contract, you should reconsider your desire for your slave. With or without a contract, your responsibility remains the same.
* Note: The following is not the contract between me and my slave - our names have been used for readability.
