Subspace

long text

www.seekdiscipline.com

Subspace is a trance-like state which many submissives can enter or be placed in, either during SM play, bondage, or through receiving strong attention, especially eye-contact, from their dominant.

Submissives report an increased level of focus on their dominant, perhaps to the extent that they are only dimly aware of anything else, and may become unable to speak ("becoming non-verbal").

Subspace is distinct from the endorphin high or bottom space, which may be produced by SM; and from the "out of body" detached or dissociated state that some endurance players (and trauma victims) report.

Enslavement can be viewed as subspace applied to a whole relationship, but at a less conscious level.
