The Crawl Command requires the Naked House Boy to travel on his hands and knees instead of standing upright. This command usually follows a Kneel Command (See below, Rule #263) or Four On The Floor (Rule #126) or after the boy has been disciplined in the Seven Point Position (Rule #108), but can be given at any time, even when the boy is upright. The protocol calls for the boy to assume the crawl position and hold, unless he is directed where or how to crawl, such as ‘Crawl toward Nathan’ or ‘Crawl slowly forward’.

The Master rarely uses the Crawl Command outdoors or on hard surfaces except for demonstration purposes, or to place the boy in a position for discipline. The Crawl Command can also be used to facilitate an inspection or cleaning of the boy’s backside.
