Bathing and Washing – Shower Requirement When Traveling
The House Boy has a regular schedule for showering and personal care and has no right to privacy during these or any other activities at home. There are also rules that require how he washes himself (including which way he faces) and the proper protocol for drying off. When using a bathtub, he is prohibited from letting soap bubbles cover his genitals. He can also be ordered to share or exit a bath or shower at any time by anyone who enters. (See related rules for ‘Bathing & Grooming’).
When traveling with the Master, bathroom accommodations may be different or unfamiliar, but the boy’s basic rules do not change. He has no right to privacy of his body or any of its functions, which means he must shower naked with the bathroom door open unless a specific exception applies. Boys who attempt to manufacture excuses to avoid showering (like “there isn’t a shower curtain”) are subject to punishment for failing to meet expectations.
In the example photo, the Master and a House Boy are visiting one of the Master’s friends when the boy is instructed to take his scheduled shower. This shouldn’t be a big deal, since the boy has taken many showers and knows the rules and protocols, even though he hasn’t taken a shower at this particular home before. At first glance, it appears that an actual shower is not available and the boy will have to take a bath, but looking closer you can see a portable shower head on a long water hose laying in the tub that would allow a standing-up shower to be taken.
This rule prohibits any House Boy from bathing himself horizontally (as in a bathtub) when any vertical method of showering is available from the same water source, even if the vertical method is inconvenient, uncomfortable, or embarrassing to the boy. Minor issues like the amount of water pressure or the use of portable showerheads or differing water temperatures or having to shower where others can watch are never a proper excuse to avoid a shower. When a shower is ordered or scheduled, the boy will comply and wash himself properly, or he will be subject to a Level One Spanking in front of whoever is present, followed by the naked shower he should have taken in the first place.
In the example photo, the boy feels embarrassed because the Master’s friend is watching to make sure that the boy doesn’t break the portable shower head or spill water onto the hardwood floor. The Master also observes because the friend reported that the boy filled the tub for a bath (filling is not a violation, but actually bathing would be) but then decided to do the right thing and shower vertically. The boy later admitted that he was embarrassed because the bathroom has no curtains and there were guests having drinks in the backyard who could possibly see through the window, but since the yard is private and the guests are on the property with permission the boy has no right to even complain about something so trivial, and certainly no right to sit down and take a bath without permission. The fact that the guests could see through the window isn’t relevant, since the very same guests also have the right to enter and use the bathroom while the boy is showering.
