The House Boy’s body is entitled to no privacy and is under the control of the Master at all times. This means that every decision about what the boy wears or doesn’t wear, how the boy’s body hair is kept or removed, what direction the boy’s penis is allowed to point, and what the boy is permitted to speak, is all determined by the Master and these reasonable rules. One ‘unreasonable rule’ is also included so that the boy understands that rules don’t have to always be reasonable (See Below Rule #201: ‘Potato Chips’). The Master also allows the boy to keep control over one area of his existence – his scalp hair – as a reminder of everything else that the boy has given up control over by agreeing to serve.

Every House Boy retains the right to determine the length and style of his scalp hair. This includes keeping the hairstyle he has at collaring, and changing styles every 90-120 days. This privilege extends only to the scalp hair, and the Master has the right to remove or otherwise alter facial hair, body hair, and pubic hair at any time. Boys who choose long or unusual hairstyles may be asked to make temporary changes (like using netting) during food preparation, when traveling, or doing activities where the boy’s hairstyle could be a health or safety issue.

This rule is one of several ways the Master does things differently. Allowing a boy control over a single area of his body actually makes him feel like he has less control over all of the other areas of his life. Friends and houseguests of the Master find it ironic that the House Boy is permitted to keep his hair however he likes it but has no right whatsoever to even cover his flopping penis during exercise time. Any questions about the hair policy are directed to the boy to answer.

Arrangements will be made through hair stylists or barbers that the Master is friends with for the cutting and styling desired by the House Boy. If the hair professional is not able to come to the Master’s home, appointments may be made after hours so that the boy can be required to remain naked. Appointments may be combined to allow body grooming at the same time. All hair appointments are scheduled activities and will take place at the assigned time, regardless of who may be present and could observe.
