When Master is expecting guests during the summer season (Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day Monday) and the boy has no other immediate duties to perform, Master may employ the use of a single restraint to ensure that the boy remains in the proper area to begin refreshment service (including appetizer or meal) upon the arrival of the guests. This is not considered a punishment, and the use of the restraint is simply to ensure that the arriving guests who may be thirsty and dehydrated are served promptly upon arrival.

When non-punishment single restraints are used under this rule, the Master or the arriving guests will be responsible for releasing the House Boy, who will be tied using a quick release strap or similar method. The boy is permitted to sit or kneel unless directed otherwise. The single restraint is usually used when guests are arriving for a “Don’t knock, Just Come On In” event and before the first guest arrives. Master will sometimes invite first-time guests early. The Naked House Boy has no right to ask or know in advance who the first arriving guest might be.

Any guest has the right to conduct a full visual inspection of the boy upon release, and any concerns should be reported to the Master for follow-up. House Boys who fail to cooperate with inspection or refreshment service are subject to punishment up to Level Three Insubordination.
