Master’s home has central heat and air conditioning and does not have a fireplace or woodstove, but it is still a rule that the House a boy is responsible for keeping fireplaces and wood stoves full and hot when these types of devices are available for use. This includes rental and cabin units, and at the home of friends or any other location where Master and the boy may be temporarily lodging. This duty includes retrieval of each log when needed, whether the wood is stored inside or outside. The boy is not excused from nudity for this duty regardless of who may be present and could observe, though the use of footwear and gloves is permitted. The boy may wear one item of clothing to retrieve work outdoors if doing so naked would be illegal or unsafe.
