The Master’s House Boy is required to serve naked at home but is given clothing or covering in public to comply with the law and dress codes for places visited. Since public nudity is not legal or traditional in the Master’s community or most other places, the boy will be dressed when out in public close to home.

California does have a limited number of Clothing Optional Beaches and Resorts, though most are far away and not suitable for a day visit. It is nevertheless a rule that the House Boy may be required to undress when visiting any place where nudity is legal or traditional. Upon arrival at a nude or clothing-optional beach (or similar, like a hot spring or other outdoor sites) the boy may be ordered to undress at the first point on the trail or walking path that is not visible from the parking area or highway unless signage reads otherwise. Protocol calls for the boy to either voluntarily obey the command or exercise his right to question it (See ‘Protocol – Questioning of Clothing Assignment’ and the Paramount Rule). If the order is questioned, enforcement will be delayed until another undressed person is seen on the trail or the boy arrives at the beach, whichever comes first.

When leaving a clothing-optional beach or similar site, the boy is permitted to get dressed before walking the trail, unless he was undressed on the trail when arriving at the beach. He would then be furnished clothing or covering when he arrives at the same place where he undressed on arrival. The boy is also responsible for watching over and insuring that his clothing is not misplaced or stolen during the day, otherwise, he may need to cover himself with whatever materials can be found between the beach and the top of the trail. Neither the Master nor anyone else present has any obligation to provide the boy with clothing or covering not assigned to the boy prior to his arrival at the beach. The boy would be permitted to ask others at the beach to help find his missing clothing if time permits, but if he does so then he is required to gratefully accept and wear the first item offered to cover himself and wear nothing else until the Master says otherwise.
