Interpretation – Torn, Ripped, or Holed Clothing
Master’s House Boy usually serves naked at home but is issued clothing sufficient to meet all dress codes in places where nudity isn’t legal or traditional. Clothing will not be issued that reveals a direct view of the penis, scrotum, anus, or perineum unless the boy is tasked to wear them at a location where nudity would be permitted anyway.
When suitable clothing becomes ripped or torn or holed while the boy is wearing them, the boy has the right to request replacement or repair sufficient to meet the local dress code. The boy does not have the right to change clothing when replacement clothing is unavailable or the torn clothing does not cause a violation of a dress code.
In the example pictured, the boy’s clothing has ripped during a beach outing, leaving his buttocks exposed to view. Had the rip exposed his penis or scrotum, replacement of the bikini would be immediate. In the case of only buttocks exposure, this is embarrassing but not necessarily illegal in unincorporated areas and at many California beaches. This boy was denied replacement until later where such exposure isn’t allowed. The fact that the boy may be embarrassed by wearing the ripped trunks is not something that affects the decision, as long as the buttocks exposure is technically legal. It also does not matter how or why the clothing became damaged. The Master has the right to allow replacement in circumstances where isn’t required by this rule.
A boy who is granted the right to change clothing must do at the location where the Master provides the new item, so long as the boy can do so without exposing body parts that would cause him to violate the dress code. In the case pictured, the boy could probably drop the torn bikini with his front side hidden and facing the vehicle and install another pair on the spot.
