The ‘Dance’ Command is an immediate action command that requires the Naked House Boy to begin dancing and continue to dance until either a ‘Stop Dancing’ command is given or the end of a song is reached. The boy may choose any type or style of dancing, so long as his body remains in sufficient motion that he is obviously dancing and that he appears to be happy and carefree while doing so. Included in all Dance Commands is an implied Smile Command (See below, Rule #318) since dancing is supposed to be an expression of joy and celebration.

The protocol calls for the boy to begin dancing, even if he is carrying or holding onto something (including another person) unless it would be unsafe to do so. When music is playing at the time a Dance Command is issued, the boy should attempt to dance in a manner consistent with the beat and tempo of the music to avoid punishment for failure to meet expectations. The boy is required to obey all Dance commands whether he is naked or clothed, at home or away from home. The Master has the right to grant authority to other people to issue Dance Commands to the boy at any time. House Boys who do not know how to dance or have little dancing ability are still required to shake themselves randomly in a futile attempt to show that they have rhythm.

When a Dance Command is given along with a style of dance (i.e. ‘Dance the Funky Chicken’) the boy is required to attempt to do that style of dance or at least pretend to make up a dance that plausibly could match the stated name of the dance. House Boys are prohibited from Twerking unless a specific Twerk Command is given (i.e. ‘Dance the Twerk, Jerk’).

In the example photo, the Naked House Boy is given a Dance Command by some younger guests at a house party put on by the Master’s college-age nephew. The boy obeys properly, making sure that his arms and legs are in motion and he maintains a pleasant smile for the guests. The guests have the right to join in and dance with the boy, or just observe while the Master orders the boy to 'Dance Faster’ or 'Dance Slower’ for their amusement.

Dancing may also be required as part of a House Boy’s exercise and fitness regimen at the Master’s discretion.
