Commands and Protocols – ‘Discard’, ‘Abandon’, and ‘Recover’

The Master’s House Boy gives up his right to privacy and to own clothing, and is required to serve naked at home. He is loaned clothing or covering sufficient to meet dress codes in places where nudity is not legal or traditional, but the Master has the right to reclaim or dispose of these items with or without advance notice to the boy. This rule covers the vast majority of times when the Master chooses to give the boy notice of permanent disposal.

Protocol for the Discard Command requires the boy to immediately remove the stated article of clothing (as in 'Discard Your Pants’) and place them in the nearest waste receptacle if there is one within sight distance. When a trash can is not nearby, the boy may assume that the Master or somebody else will be handling the discarded item which can be tossed out of the way (5-15 feet is optimum). He has the right to refuse to obey only when it would violate dress codes or would be dangerous to obey (discarding a welding mask while welding, for example, or revealing his genitals where nudity isn’t allowed).

The Abandon Command is used for items that the boy is not presently wearing, but he would normally collect or carry or stow away. The protocol calls for the boy to leave the stated item in its current location and never attempt to retrieve or recover it without permission. 'Recover’ is a rarely used command that allows the boy to reclaim items that have been discarded or abandoned, and is sometimes used to wind back the discarding or abandonment of an item. Recovered items may be carried or stowed, but never worn without additional permission.

In the example photo, the House Boy is directed to discard his white underwear, which the boy was issued for a leisurely day with the Master and friends at the public beach. The Master sees a small hole in the underwear – it has been deemed unworthy for wearing – and plans have been changed to spend the afternoon at the friend’s rural property where clothing is now 'optional’. (the Master, of course, has the 'option’ of making the boy strip naked). The boy complies by removing and tossing the underwear, which is recovered by the friend who will do whatever he wants with them.

The 'Discard’, 'Abandon’, and 'Recover’ commands may also be used for non-clothing items at the Master’s discretion. Failure to properly obey is a Level One Offense and will be escalated to Level Two if Forced Compliance is needed (See below: 'Dealing With Resistance’, Interpretation #22)
