Courtesy & Interaction – Dealing with Cultural Differences
The Master’s House Boy is required to serve naked at home but is allowed clothing or covering sufficient to meet dress codes when traveling to places where nudity is not legal or traditional. Occasionally, the Master will take the boy to a public place where social nudity is acceptable and the boy is not permitted clothing unless there is a good reason to do so.
Despite any requirement that the boy be partially or fully undressed in front of others, it is never appropriate for the boy to be confrontational to anyone, except in self-defense. The boy will always be courteous in explaining his nudity or answering questions from strangers, and he will always keep his hands at his sides or behind his back so he does not project hostility in his body language.
In the example photo, a House Boy has been allowed recreation time at a Clothing Optional beach, and the Master has exercised “Master’s Clothing Option” that the boy strip and remain naked while at the beach. For some reason, two women have singled out the boy to question him about his nudity and lifestyle. In this circumstance, the boy is doing nothing wrong, and the requirement that he remain naked stays in effect. His nudity, however, does not give him the right to disrespect the women in any other way beyond the nudity. If the circumstance becomes confrontational, the boy should attempt to leave or call for the Master for guidance. When the Master is unavailable, the boy may leave or cover-up, and he will not be subject to punishment as long as he reasonably feared negative consequences.
