Implied Command – Non-Verbal “Hug”
When the House Boy is sleeping or napping, he is still required to accept Hugs from the Master at any time. Visitors are permitted hugs only when they are arriving or are leaving, or if the boy is ill or injured. Hugs do not involve sexual contact with the genitals or any orifice and are always no longer than 60 seconds. A boy who resists an appropriate hug will be given a warning and sixty seconds time-out to gather his thoughts, after which a verbal Hug command will be given. Continued resistance will be viewed as disrespectful to the visitor and receive Level Two punishment. The offended guest may administer the punishment on request, subject to safety considerations and the Master’s approval. In the case of an arriving or regular houseguest, the punishment may be deferred up to 24 hours, to allow for completion of the sleep cycle and other conflicting obligations.
