The Master’s property is a friendly and accepting place, and the Master wishes that his House Boy be viewed and friendly and accepting, too. The implied or verbal command ‘Shake’ for shaking hands may be given by the Master or a guest when arriving or leaving or as a gesture of thanks or appreciation for a completed task. The House Boy shall graciously receive any handshake so offered, and shall promptly act to carry out a handshake that is firm yet not so tight that it eclipses the grip of the other party. Off the property, the boy should use good judgment in responding to handshakes from strangers.

Handshakes need not be responded to during any punishment but must be obeyed during routine chores, grooming, bathing, inspections, etc. The house boy may only be awakened for a handshake when guests arrive or leave the property. Handshakes are sometimes followed by an implied 'hug’ command, and the boy is required to transition smoothly into a hug if necessary. (Non-Verbal Command: Hug) .

In the example shown, the House Boy is greeted by a neighbor with an Implied 'Shake’ Command in the back corner of Master’s property on a warm spring afternoon. The kink-friendly neighbor knows that the Master doesn’t allow his boys to wear clothing and he is pleased to check out the Master’s new House Boy. It’s important that the boy stays on his best behavior in these encounters because the neighbor could always make a report of discourtesy to the Master and the boy would be subject to discipline.
