The Naked House Boy is prohibited from covering or concealing his penis and testicles (or his buttocks) except when he is issued clothing to leave the house or Master has given special permission. He is also not permitted to conceal or cover his face so that guests can see the facial expressions of the boy who is required to remain nude and on display (See below, Rule #230). Rules for showering, however, require the boy to leave the entry door open and to wash and rinse each and every one of his body parts, including the face (See below, Rule #200).

It will not be a violation and the boy will not be punished for covering or concealing his face while showering, as long as the boy is facing the entrance to the shower or bathroom, and the boy’s penis is clearly visible to anyone who happens to be present and could observe. The boy need not be actually washing or rinsing his face and is allowed to just enjoy the water cascade onto his head or hands or body, providing he completes a proper shower without violating any other rule.

A House Boy who chooses to enjoy shower time with his hands covering his face is not permitted to adjust the water temperature or volume (nor turn it on or off) while his face is covered or concealed with either or both hands. This is to prevent a boy from extending his shower to avoid revealing his face to any guest who may wish to see it. The boy is never permitted to touch his penis or anus while his face is hidden from view by either hand.
