The wearing of a headband by the House Boy is permitted in all circumstances when a hat or cap would be allowed by rule. Headbands must remain above eyebrow level at all times and must not cover any part of the ear. The boy is not permitted to wear a headband with a hat or cap without permission from the Master. Since the boy is subject to an inspection of any body part at any time, he must remove the headband for a scalp or forehead inspection on demand.

In the example pictured, the boy has chosen to wear a headband instead of a cap or hat to an outdoor event on a warm summer day. House Boys are never required to be naked except where it is legal or traditional, so we can tell from the photo that this location has no regulations against nudity. He is also wearing eyeglasses, as permitted by the Jewelry Rule.
