The Naked House Boy is issued a collar of a style and construction selected by Master. Application and enforcement of these rules begin with the first installation of the collar, regardless of location or circumstances. A temporary collar shall have the same function as a permanent one. If the collar is installed at a location where nudity is legal or traditional then all of the boy’s clothing will be immediately removed, regardless of who may be present and could observe. House Boys who fail to ask in advance about the dress code of the location where collar installation occurs shall have no right to object to the nudity requirement, which will be carried out by force if necessary. Full-time House Boys have no right to the return of any clothing worn at collaring, though personal effects like their wallet and keys will be stored for later retrieval with permission of the Master.

Following the initial collaring, the House Boy will only wear the physical collar when required by these rules or ordered by the Master. He is still obligated to obey all rules and commands, of course. Master will often allow the boy to wear a ‘light collar’ such as a necklace or ankle bracelet, or even go without a collar, with the actual wearing of a formal collar reserved for special events or when the use of attachments (like a leash or lead) is anticipated. Any boy who removes or attempts to remove a collar is guilty of a Level Three Insubordination and will be punished accordingly.

The collar itself is rarely used for punishment, but it may be installed in anticipation of discipline or to allow the attachment of restraints for punishment. A leash or lead may be attached to help guide the boy through crowded areas or in situations where the boy is likely to get lost or wander off course. The attachment of a single restraint is sometimes used to help the boy stay in a given area and concentrate on a chore or activity. Collars are never of a ‘choker’ style or similar unsafe design. A boy who is wearing nothing but a collar shall be considered to be naked.
