Required Signage – Pool Area
This sign shall be posted and maintained at the outside entrance to the pool area and in the pool area itself to warn visitors that no lifeguard is on duty and that the House Boy is required to remain naked. Visitors enter and swim at their own risk of being offended or injured.
The House Boy shall check the signage at last once a week during the off-season, and twice a week from the first day of May to the first autumn rainfall. Dirty or soiled signage must be washed and damaged or missing signage must be replaced with temporary signage immediately. The Master sometimes allows friends or relatives who are not house guests to use the pool for recreational swimming or lessons, and it is important that visitors who come and go on their own through the outside gate are able to view the signage clearly.
All pool users have been told about the Naked House Boy before they are invited to use the facilities, but occasionally they may not take the warning seriously or they may bring along a guest of their own. The House Boy is to keep his behavior and decorum strictly appropriate when unfamiliar guests are present in the pool area, but he is never allowed to hide his nudity or skip any chore or duty just because guests may laugh or complain or says things that may humiliate the boy. This is the Master’s home – and the House Boy’s home too – where the boy always has the right and responsibility to remain naked at all times.
