Fixtures and Furnishings – Lighting and Mirrors
The Master has the right to upgrade or modify indoor or outdoor lighting for any reason at any time, including to improve the visibility of the Naked House Boy’s body as he goes about his daily duties and chores. The boy has no right to privacy and therefore no right to object or resist changes that reduce his privacy or make it easier for the Master or visitors to supervise the boy’s behavior and activities. The Master may install mirrors of any type and style, including conventional or one-way, concave, or convex, and the House Boy will be responsible for maintaining all mirrors in a substantially clean and presentable condition.
In the example photo, the House Boy (who is also a college student) works on a class project in his assigned study area. The overheard spotlight is sufficient for the boy’s needs, but the Master has added indirect strip-lighting to create a better view. The boy can now be properly supervised from the entryway or hallway to ensure that he is actually studying and his hands are up near the keyboard and not fiddling around below the desk where they shouldn’t be. The addition of a full-length mirror on the wall comes as a suggestion from house guests who want a better view of the boy from both sides.
