The Hug Position Spanking is sometimes chosen when the Master regrets that discipline must be administered for an unintentional violation or the Master wishes to allow a House Boy to conceal his shame or bouncing penis from view to others during punishment, instructing the House Boy with a Hug Command to face the Master and share a caring embrace prior to the announcement or commencement of the physical punishment swats to impact the bare buttocks of the misbehaving House Boy.

All violations by the House Boy are punishable at Level One Discipline unless otherwise specified in the rules and protocols. Punishment at this level calls for a bare hand spanking on the House Boy’s bare bottom. Discipline usually takes place immediately, regardless of who may be present and could observe. Several positions may be used for a Level One Spanking, the most frequent is face down Over The Knee (Rule #158) which is commonly used for the most minor of infractions. Backward Over The Knee (Rule #81) is usually chosen by the Master when a House Boy commits a more serious violation or repeats misconduct, and is much more explicit as the penis, scrotum, and anus are visible as the discipline is administered.

Another option of carrying out discipline is when the Master chooses the Hug Position, as shown in the example photo. The House Boy is ordered to face the Master (or whoever will administer the spanking) and is held tightly to present a stable target area. The sentence is then carried out with the Naked House Boy facing away from anyone who happens to be present. The Master announces in advance the number of swats that are to be administered, but no verbal count is made unless any observers wish to do so. Impact with a bare hand on either or both sides of the buttocks will count as a Level One Swat, with the process continuing until the designated number of swats has been completed. The Hug Position may also be chosen for Level Two Spankings by using a suitable implement such as a measuring stick, folded belt, wooden paddle, book, rolled magazine, or newspaper.

Unless a rule specifies otherwise, the Master has the option to determine the strength and number of swats to be administered, as well as the spanking position and specific location that punishment will be carried out. The Master will take into consideration length of service since collaring, the House Boy’s attitude and demeanor and previous behavior, whether the punishable offense was intentional, accidental, or negligent, and the recommendations of others who happen to be present. First-time offenses may be reduced to a warning at the Master’s discretion.

Although the House Boy has no right to privacy during punishment, the Master will sometimes select the Hug Position as a means of temporarily concealing a House Boy’s visible shame or the sight of his bouncing genitals from any guests who happen to be present. Relief is only temporary. The House Boy is still required to turn around and apologize when the spanking is over and maybe assigned Corner Time (Rule #120) to follow.
