The command to Kneel requires the House Boy to immediately stop what he is doing, then drop to his knees while facing the Master, while otherwise remaining upright but with his head bowed, and then to wait for further instructions. It does not matter where or under what circumstances this command is given by the Master, the boy is expected to immediately obey unless it would be unsafe to do so. If the boy is not carrying anything, he should place his hands behind his back, otherwise, he should hold on to what he is carrying using both hands in front of him. A neutral expression is appropriate for the boy while waiting for follow-up instructions.

The Kneel Command is used for a variety of practical reasons and one ornamental reason: to demonstrate the boy’s subservience and the Master’s superiority. Inspection of body parts will sometimes take place while kneeling, or the boy may be tasked to carry out some kind of service for the Master that is easier while kneeling than in a standing position.

On rare occasions, this command may be given prior to the formal announcement of a violation and the subsequent spanking of the House Boy, which would take place after a follow-up command ordering the boy to apologize or to lean forward and assume a spanking position with buttocks exposed for discipline.

In the example photo, the House Boy has been ordered to Kneel and submit to inspection following a complete body shaving. The boy will be tasked to lean forward to allow a volunteer to carefully inspect his buttocks, anal area, and legs for remnants of hair while the Master gently runs his fingers across the boy’s chin and chest, underarm, and public areas for stubble. If dry skin, cuts, or chafing is noted, medicated creme or ointment may need to be applied prior to dismissing the boy to carry on his duties and chores.

Although the House Boy is not permitted privacy during any part of a Kneel Command or Inspection, he is permitted to close his eyes and pretend that he is alone if this gives him comfort, unless the Master specifically directs the boy to open his eyes by saying ‘Look At Me’.
