The Master’s House Boy is required to make and serve morning coffee to the Master and to offer coffee to any overnight guests. This is a daily chore unless exempted. Like any duty or chore, this is a scheduled activity and the House Boy is not permitted clothing, regardless of who may be present (or drop-in) and could observe. If the boy chooses to take advantage of auto-brewing coffee makers or other timing devices, the boy accepts responsibility for the failure of the device to operate due to malfunction or power outages.

The Master prefers home-brewed basic coffee for his first cup or two on most days but also visits a local coffee house occasionally for cappuccino or a more exotic brew. Coffee service off property is covered under different protocols.
