Although snow is extremely rare at the Master’s home in California, snowfall isn’t impossible. In the event of a snow event requiring the clearing of an accumulation from the driveway or walkway, the house boy is responsible for this task. Footwear and gloves will be provided on request, and this duty will not be assigned during active precipitation (snow, rain, sleet, etc) or whenever conditions are hazardous. The same rule applies when traveling.

Although the boy is pictured shoveling snow naked in a private yard, he is never required to undress away from the Master’s property except where nudity is legal or traditional. With that. said, this duty does take place when assigned regardless of who may be present and could observe. The Master appreciates visitors who volunteer to help the boy with any activity, and such requests will be approved unless there is a good reason not to. Following outdoor work, the House Boy is subject to inspections and washing if needed.
