Use Of Handcuff Alternatives
When the House Boy is traveling with Master away from home and the use of Handcuff Alternatives becomes necessary, a belt may be provisioned as a suitable alternative and folded in the four step process pictured above to provide proper safety restraint for discipline or for non-disciplinary restraint as authorized by these rules and protocols.

One pair of fully functional Handcuffs (Rule #102) shall be stored on the property or in the Master’s vehicle at all times, with one of the associated keys placed on the Master’s key ring for use when needed. When the House Boy is traveling with the Master away from home and it becomes necessary to use handcuffs which are not available, the Master has the right to use a safe alternative to handcuffs either for enforcement of discipline or for non-disciplinary control pursuant to the rules and protocols. While circumstances like these are rare, this protocol for Handcuff Alternatives is necessary to ensure the safety of the House Boy and the Master’s right to use alternative restraints in the absence of standard-issue handcuffs.
An example of discipline using handcuffs would be a Level Three Spanking to be administered to the House Boy’s bare bottom while visiting at a friend’s home where handcuffs or suitable restraints are unavailable or unsatisfactory. An example of non-disciplinary control using handcuffs would be the need to attach a leash and cuffs on a House Boy to safely lead him through a crowded area during a public festival or other events. The protocol in this rule authorizes the Master to use safe and legal Handcuff Alternatives to restrain the House Boy in any disciplinary or non-disciplinary situation.
When the Use Of Handcuff Alternatives is necessary away from home, a belt shall be provisioned and improvised as the default substitute. The House Boy may be required to remove his belt on demand and present it to the Master properly folded, regardless of who may be present and could observe. Alternatively, the Master may choose to use his own belt or that of a volunteer if the House Boy is not wearing a belt, or if he is wearing a belt that is poorly suitable for application as a handcuff alternative. The wearing of baggy or oversized pants may not be used as an excuse by a House Boy to avoid removal of his belt, and the Master is not responsible if an unbelted House Boy’s pants happen to sag or fall due to the House Boy’s own inattention or carelessness. If a belt is unavailable, a strap or rope or similar item may be used as a secondary alternative instead.
Protocol for fashioning a belt into a suitable Handcuff Alternative consists of four steps, as shown in the example photo:
- — Thread the tail of the belt through the buckle, and pull it until the loop is sized to the size of the House Boy’s wrist
- — Loop the loose tail back through the belt buckle’s square frame, creating an eight
- — Bring the tail around and slide it through the belt loop while making sure to keep the size of the cuff
- — Take the tail and slide it through the square belt buckle frame, keeping it parallel to the other segment of the belt which was slid through in Step 2 (the Master or a volunteer then can tighten the handcuffs by simply pulling on the tail)
Any House Boy who has a belt or alternative tightened around his wrists or ankles shall be considered Officially Restrained for the purpose of all rules and protocols, and the Master will take extra care to ensure the House Boy’s supervision and safety. Restraint of a House Boy for Level Three Discipline shall only be maintained until the need for restraint has passed or until any disciplinary action is completed, and the provisions of the Paramount Rule shall apply. A visual inspection of the House Boy’s skin under and around the restrained area should be conducted by the Master or a volunteer following removal of the belt and may be combined with the mandatory Buttocks Inspection (Rule #20) which follows all Level Three Spankings. As always, the House Boy has No Right To Privacy (See below, Rule #12) during any physical inspection.
When a Handcuff Alternative is used to provide an attachment point for a leash or lead for non-disciplinary reasons, the House Boy is expected to keep pace with and maintain eye contact with the Master at all times. Any active or passive resistance or preventable failure to keep pace and eye contact with the Master is subject to discipline. Handcuff Alternatives may also be used for Dealing With Resistance (Rule #34), to any command or instruction, or as part of any Educational Initiative (Rule #119) regardless of whether the House Boy is clothed or naked.
