Misbehavior by the House Boy may result in a variety of punishments, but the most common form of discipline is spanking. Three Levels of punishment by spanking may be assigned, with Level Three reserved for the most serious of offenses. Level Three spankings require the use of restraints, and discipline is usually administered with the aid of an implement like a paddle or brush.

A Discipline Area is set aside for Level Three punishments that need to be administered when guests are present. This allows the boy to be led to a private area so that guests do not have to observe the spanking if they do not wish to. When guests are not present – or when all guests volunteer that they have no objection to viewing the discipline – Level Three punishment may be carried out in the boy’s bedroom using the four corner restraints pictured. Guests will be reminded that the Naked House Boy has no right to privacy, and this includes discipline.

The protocol calls for the boy to be told which implement will be used, then he is to be led naked and blindfolded into his quarters, and instructed to lie face down on his bed. If he is wearing socks they need not be removed. The blindfold is used to heighten the boy’s senses during the impact of the spanking implement. The Master (or a volunteer guest) then attaches cuffs to the boy’s ankles and wrists and the securement belts are tightened to prevent the boy from injuring himself through movement during the spanking process.

Prior to actually spanking the boy, the Master will ask a guest to rest his or her hand gently on the boy’s buttocks so that a light practice stroke may be taken to ensure that the buttocks themselves are properly targeted. If no guest is available, the Master will find a small object to place over the boy’s buttocks for the practice swat. Actual punishment will not begin until the Master is satisfied that the buttocks are properly targeted.

The boy is not required to call out each swat when punished in this face-down position. Instead, the Master or a guest will call out each swat by number. At the completion of the assigned number of swats, the Master or a guest will inspect the boy’s buttocks, and then release the securement. The boy will be instructed to stand and face those present for his required apology, and then comply with the ‘Corner Time’ Rule to complete the discipline.

As a reminder, many House Boys never receive physical discipline, because of their compliant and obedient personalities. Those boys exist to please, and the Master enjoys being spoiled by their devotion. Some boys, however, have an inner brattiness or impulsiveness that causes them to act out, or their moodiness or carelessness causes them to break rules and earn discipline. The Master realizes these boys need structure and discipline to provide a guided framework to improve their behavior and performance. Tying them up and spanking their naked butts in front of whoever happens to be visiting is a necessary part of that process, and the Master enjoys providing this guidance.
