Command – “Quiet”
The Quiet Command (also known as “Shut Up” or “Shhh”) shall be immediately obeyed by the House Boy without exception. It shall override any conflicting command, except in the event of an actual emergency (such as a house fire). It will be a serious violation for any House Boy to speak or otherwise make an audible noise after a Quiet Command has been given, whether it be from external objects like closing a door loudly, or from internal functions like passing gas or coughing.
The placement of a hand across the face or lips of a House Boy as shown in the example photo shall have the same authority as a verbal command. Violation is an Enhanced Level Two offense, unless the violation is external and accidental, which is only Level One. Since this offense involves the use of the mouth, an oral insertion shall be used for a first offense. A repeat offense in the same calendar month may be punished using either an oral or anal insertion at the Master’s discretion.
Any violation of a Quiet Command may result in the use of Duct Tape as a discipline to ensure his silence. (See below, Rule #273).
