Commands & Protocols – “At Ease”
Protocol for the command ‘At Ease’ requires the House Boy to immediately stand facing Master with feet under shoulders, arms behind back, and either a neutral or slightly positive facial expression. It will be a violation of protocol to stray from these guidelines, including the expression of a full smile or laughter or grimace or other negativity. This order will always be carried out immediately, even in inconvenient circumstances like during a shower. The boy must remain in position until ordered otherwise. This command usually precedes an instruction to carry out a task or the ‘Dismissed’ command.
