The ‘Airplane’ command is a simple and direct way for the Master to order the House Boy to spread his arms wide to each side while holding them perpendicular to the ground. This rarely used command may also be given with the words ‘Arms Spread’ (or 'Spread Arms’) or 'Arms Wide’, though the single word 'Airplane’ is most efficient.

The protocol calls for the House Boy to first set down anything he may be carrying that could spill, break, or cause injury and then face the Master and obey the command. There does not have to be an actual airplane for this command to be given or obeyed.

The 'Airplane’ command is most commonly given before a chest or nipple inspection or as a demonstration command in front of the Master’s friends. In the example photo, the House Boy is riding a rental bike from a clothing-optional beach back to the hotel that he and the Master are staying in when the Master calls out the word 'Airplane’ to draw the boy’s attention to what’s taking off in the background. Mistaking the statement for a command, the boy stops and lays down his bike, then turns to the Master and assumes the Airplane Position. In this circumstance, the boy will not be punished because he has actually followed a rule – not disobeyed it. The Master may even reward the boy with additional recreational time for being so attentive. The boy would be subject to punishment for insubordination if he knowingly mocks the Master or repeats the action after being counseled not to.

House Boys are never required to be naked in public where nudity is not legal or traditional. The 'Airplane" command is not valid nor should be obeyed in an actual airport or onboard a flight. The Master will use one of the two-word alternatives in these locations.
