The House Boy shall respond promptly to requests for Umbrella Escort and may be required to escort Master or guests anywhere on the property and/or to and from their vehicles during precipitation, following all protocols for personal Use Of Umbrella and Umbrella Escort and related protocols for Raincoats and Rainwear (Rule #166), inclement weather restrictions and optional footwear and headwear.

The House Boy may be required to escort guests outdoors on the property and to and from their vehicles on request. An umbrella is stored in the two coat closets nearest the front door and rear entrances, with another in the trunk of the Master’s primary vehicle. It is the responsibility of the House Boy to respond to guest requests for Umbrella Escort during inclement weather and to keep the Master and visitors as dry as possible during escort, even when this means the House Boy may temporarily take on water or feel uncomfortable. During warm rains from spring to fall, while the backyard pool is maintained for daily use, the House Boy must remain naked while escorting visitors anywhere on the property, except when the outside temperature falls below 60 degrees or there are substantial winds. Appropriate Footwear and a cap or hat are optional as always, and the House Boy is not required to provide escort off the property to on-street parking without Minimal Clothing (See below, Rule #111). The House Boy is permitted but not required to wear a transparent Raincoat or Rainsuit (See below, Rule #166) during Umbrella Escort.   

During the winter months when the backyard pool is closed and at any time there are substantial winds or the outside temperature is below 60 degrees, the House Boy is permitted to temporarily wear Standard Clothing (See below, Rule #111) to protect himself from the cold and other inclement conditions, provided he only dresses to provide temporary escort and then immediately undresses when the service is complete. The House Boy is not permitted to wear underwear of any type at any time during an on-property Umbrella Escort, and anyone observing a House Boy doing so is authorized to forcibly remove the prohibited clothing and/or report the violation to the Master for possible discipline.   

Guests are encouraged to phone ahead if they wish the House Boy to provide Umbrella Escort on arrival, though requests made upon arrival will be filled whenever possible. The House Boy must request permission to use an umbrella unsupervised for his own personal use unless the weather is so severe that failure to use an umbrella would constitute a health hazard. Pursuant to the Rodeo Rule (See Index, Rule #251), a House Boy using an umbrella for any reason is prohibited from holding or placing the umbrella where it will substantially cover or conceal his genitalia for longer than eight consecutive seconds, though he is not subject to discipline for this Level Two Act Of Disrespect (See Index, Rule #70) unless a complaint is lodged with the Master and sustained by a witness or other evidence.
