Violation – Unnecessary Waste of Energy Resources
The Naked House Boy should conduct himself in a manner that does not unnecessarily waste energy resources. This includes turning off lights when not in use, using thermostats to control temperature, and consolidating errands and shopping duties whenever possible. During his recreation time, the boy should still be aware of energy use and use good judgment in going about his activities.
In the example photo, the House Boy is looking for a specific item in the refrigerator/freezer. The boy can’t remember whether the item was placed in the refrigerator or was kept frozen in the freezer side of the unit. Instead of using good judgment and checking the refrigerator side first – and then the freezer side if the item could not be located – the boy chose to open both doors and leave them open while he casually looked over the entire contents of both the refrigerator and freezer.
Occasional lapses of judgment like this one are minor and deserving of a warning. Repeated violations or behavior like this in front of visitors reflect poorly on the Master and are subject to spanking at Level One or Level Two. Violations of energy use under 15 minutes in length are limited to a single swat unless repeated on the same day. The Master authorizes house guests who observe the violation pictured to immediately administer discipline using their bare hand, or refer to the Master for enforcement with a measuring stick.
