Bathing & Grooming – Showering
When a shower door or curtain could block someone’s view, the Master’s House Boy must wash with the shower door or curtain sufficiently open to allow supervision from outside the shower stall. The boy must soap and wash his body while facing the entrance to the shower or the door to the room, though he is permitted to rinse while rotating or facing in any direction. Each body part will be soaped and washed completely, then rinsed and washed again. The final rinse is a full-body rinse until all soap has been cleared.
The House Boy is responsible for cleaning up any water spillage into the bathroom area prior to drying himself off. The washing of scalp hair and feet are covered under different rules. Showering is a scheduled duty and will take place at the assigned time regardless of who may be present and could observe. The House Boy is not allowed to close the bathroom door during this activity or prevent guests from entering the bathroom to watch. The House Boy is never allowed privacy.
