The Master-slave Handbook

Technique: Safety

Primary Principle: A Master ought to always keep close to his slave, trying to know all the time what he's feeling and what condition he's in; listening to his breathing, and reading his body language.

Competence of the Master: A Master should have a good idea of what he’s going to do and how he’s going to do it. A clear developmental outline of the training a particular slave requires needs to be in place. Experimentation is fun but still needs to be worked through beforehand. Not being prepared, or giving a slave inappropriate training doesn't make a very good scene and it’s not impressive if a Master is fumbling around looking for something for ages or is not thinking ahead to how to use a slave in a particular position. A scene should appear to flow effortlessly and slickly. A Master should always look as if he knows exactly what he is doing and there should be no evidence of the hours of preparation, construction, and planning that has taken place.

Note of safety: Anything that comes into contact with body fluids or blood needs to be sterilized after use or disposed of.

Note of responsibility: It is a Master's duty and responsibility to ensure that a slave is safe at all times. Bondage, confinement, breath control, bareback, unsafe sex and all types of edge play need to be conducted within the parameters of the relationship boundaries - this is consensual slavery, after all.

Note of caution: Take into account anything that can go wrong and prepare for this accordingly.
